Estimation Jar
An important skill in both our math and our science curriculums is estimating. To gain more practice in this area, we are asking for your help. Each week the estimation jar is awarded to the student that makes the best estimate as to the quantity of items contained in the jar the previous week. The student then takes the jar home over the weekend and fills it with something new for the students to estimate! Please fill the jar with something inexpensive and please make sure that you have at least 24 items if you would like your child to share the contents of the jar with the class!!! (24 students) **Also remember that we will be counting these items to check for the closest estimate--PLEASE do not put quantities of more than 100 in the jar--otherwise we will be there all day counting:-)
**Example items include: gum balls, cotton balls, pencils, erasers, etc
