Take Home Folders 

“Take Home” folders are to go home each night. Please check this folder every night for important notes from school. Your child is to return this folder to school each morning. Please read and sign the student's agenda each night as well. This is where your child will record all homework assignments and scheduled events for our classroom.

Absences

When your child is going to be absent please notify the office as soon as possible. Any work that your child misses will need to be made up when your child returns. I you would like to have work sent home please contact the office and I will have it waiting for you there at the end of the day.

Parent Helpers

We can always use parent helpers, whether you can come in for just a few hours one day; for a particular time each week’ or even just volunteer to cut things out at home in your spare time!

We will soon be starting to create our “published books” and need help editing, scribing, and creating books at home. Please complete the parent helper form if you are interested in working in our classroom.

Dismissal  

We are aware of where the children go after school. If there is going to be a change for a day, please send in a note and let us know. We will forward this information to the office so that everyone is aware of the change. Your child will not be permitted to go home with another student or ride on a different bus if we do not have permission from you! Please make sure we know if there are any changes being made.

Cursive Writing

Third grade students ARE expected to write in cursive at all times. Please continue to practice this important skill at home with your child.

Progress Book (Online Grade book)

I will open up my grade book to each of you so that you can see your son or daughter's grades as I enter them into my grade book. You will receive an access code and directions on how to use it. More info to come:-)

E-mail List

The best way to reach us is by e-mail. We will be checking our e-mail several times a day. I hope to create an e-mail list so that I can send out updates, important reminders, and even photos of the fun activities as they occur in our room. If you need to get me an important message, the other best option is to call the office at

(216) 691-2225 and ask the office to leave a note taped in my mailbox.
